Mango in your eye

Ambulance

Your slim frame
Your eager eyes and your wild mane
Oh they keep me where I belong
All wrapped up in wrong

You’re to blame
For wasted words of sad refrain
Oh let them take me where they may
Believe me when I say

I will be your accident if you will be my ambulance
And I will be your screech and crash if you will be my crutch and cast
And I will be your one more time if you will be my one last chance
oh fall for me

Your slim frame
Your simple stare and your wrong, wrong name
Oh they keep me where I belong
All strung out in song

Why so tame
We could shoot wilder vines
Through younger veins
Sip slow from night’s deep wells
And watch our gardens swell
Once the seeds are sown
Wild and overgrown, you’ll see
Heart's colors changed like leaves

Oh sweet sweet tree
Fall for me
Fall fast, fall free, fall for me

Because I will be your ambulance if you will be my accident
And I will be your screech and crash if you will be my crutch and cast
And I will be your one more time if you will be my one last chance

Oh sweet tree, fall with me
Fall fast, fall free, fall with me

Iconic Influence

The fabled Marchesa Luisa Casati (1881-1957) triumphed as the brightest star in European society. Possibly the most artistically represented woman in history after the Virgin Mary and Cleopatra, the portraits, sculptures and photographs of her would fill a gallery. In a quest for immortality, she had herself painted by Giovanni Boldini, Augustus John, Kees Van Dongen, Romaine Brooks and Ignacio Zuloaga; sketched by Drian, Alberto Martini and Alastair; sculpted by Giacomo Balla, Catherine Barjansky and Jacob Epstein; and photographed by Man Ray, Cecil Beaton and Baron Adolph de Meyer. She frightened Artur Rubinstein, angered Aleister Crowley and intimidated T.E. Lawrence. As muse to the Italian futurists F. T. Marinetti, Fortunato Depero and Umberto Boccioni, she conjured up an elaborate marionette show with music by Maurice Ravel. Accompanied by her pet boa constrictor, she checked into the Ritz Hotel in Paris where it escaped. Considered the original female dandy, Léon Bakst, Paul Poiret, Mariano Fortuny and Erté dressed her. She adorned herself with the jewels of Lalique and directly inspired the famed 'Panther' design for Cartier. Her parties and appearances at others became legendary–at one celebration in her Venetian palazzo, Nijinsky invited Isadora Duncan to dance; Picasso attended a soirée at her Roman villa; while she costumed herself as a living artwork inspired by Dali for another. She was a subject of intrigue to Marcel Proust and the Comte Robert de Montesquiou. She whirled through Parisian nightlife, making an unforgettable impression on Colette, Elsa Schiaparelli and Coco Chanel. Nude servants gilded in gold leaf attended her. Bizarre wax mannequins sat as guests at her dining table, some of them even rumoured to contain the ashes of past lovers. She wore live snakes as jewellery and was infamous for her evening strolls, naked beneath her furs whilst parading cheetahs on diamond-studded leashes. Everywhere she went, she set trends, inspired genius and astounded even the most jaded members of the international aristocracy. Without question, the Marchesa Casati was the most scandalous woman of her day.

Yeah Huh

Left Handed-Ness
There are many theories on how being left-handed affects the way a person thinks. One theory divides left- and right-handed thinkers into two camps: visual simultaneous vs. linear sequential.[42][43][44][45]
According to this theory, right-handed people are thought to process information using a "linear sequential" method in which one thread must complete its processing before the next thread can be started.
Left-handed persons are thought to process information using a "visual simultaneous" method in which several threads can be processed simultaneously. Another way to view this is such: Suppose there were one thousand pieces of popcorn and one of them was colored blue. Right-handed people—using the linear sequential processing style—would look at the popcorn one at a time until they encountered the blue one. The left-handed person would spread out the pieces of popcorn and look at all of them to find the one that was blue. A side effect of these differing styles of processing is that right-handers need to complete one task before they can start the next. Left-handers, by contrast, are capable and comfortable switching between tasks. This seems to suggest that left-handed people have an excellent ability to multi-task, and anecdotal evidence that they are more creative may stem from this ability to multi-task.
Right-handed people process information using "analysis", which is the method of solving a problem by breaking it down to its pieces and analyzing the pieces one at a time. By contrast, left-handed people process information using "synthesis", which is the method of solving a problem by looking at the whole and trying to use pattern-matching to solve the problem.[45]
Ultimately, being left-handed is not an all-or-nothing situation. The processing styles operate on a continuum where some people are more visual-simultaneous and others are more linear-sequential.
Psychological Characteristics of Left-handed People
Leadership. About 66% of American presidents in the last 30 years were left-handed men. Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Gerald Fold were all left-handed presidents. Barack Obama and John McCain are both left-handed.
Quick thinkers. Studies have shown that lefties are "exceptional." Australian research shows that left-handed people think more quickly when playing computer games or sports. Left-handed people also tend to earn more money.
Sexuality. Research from Canada reveals this interesting quality of left-handed people: they're more likely to be homosexual.
Mixed-handed people are more likely to alter their beliefs as they get new information, making them better able to see both sides of the story.
Personality Traits of Lefties
Independence: Some experts believe left-handed people are more independent because they've had to get along in a world that's not made for them. Dr Peters says that lefties are "slightly more resistant to social pressures, to have more of an independent streak."
Adaptability: Canadian research shows that left-handed people are more adaptable than right-handed people. That is, a lefty can use her right hand to do tasks much easier than a righty can use his hand. Left-handed people seem to be able to switch over more easily.
Generally, Southpaws are thought to be more flexible, highly intelligent, and more resilient than right-handed people.

Are left-handed people smarter than right-handed people?

"Well, in a way, left-handed people are smarter, and I'll tell you why," Dr. Oz says. "Left-handed people can deal with more incoming information that doesn't come in an organized way." Dr. Oz says this is because of the way the brain develops when a baby is in its mother's womb. "The left brain normally controls your right side, which is really powerful," he says. "[In left-handed people], it allows the other side, the right brain, to become an equal partner."

Because left-handed people can use both sides of their brain more readily, Dr. Oz says, they can process information coming into their brain in different ways more easily. "That's why athletes do so well when they're left-handed. And there are a lot of presidents who have been left-handed, and there are a lot of folks who, because they can deal with a lot of complicated issues at once, work pretty effectively," he says.

From the Archives

So I have been reading through old letters I have sent to several over the past few years and here is one:

I told you that in order for us to be friends (which at this point its either we are only friends, or we are nothing at all) I wanted us to have a clear understanding of each other. I also told you that you have detered the way I know I am because of what I believe are some assumptions you have of me.

Perseverant .
Stubborn.
Practical.
Rash.
Ambitious and want to achieve permanence in life.
For security, I begin with a solid base.
I don't reason before I speak or think before I do always.
My reasoning is very clear and follows definite and acceptable patterns.
Warm-hearted and kind
I can become violent without warning if something tries my patience
I am consistent
I use all my resources to win
I hate losing, even if it's the best thing for me
I take failure really hard
I want to love everything
I am too trusting
Skeptical
Creative
I know space, and planning, I am visionary
I can teach but I can't implement
Egocentric
I like science and philosophy
My tendencies are to lose interest after a certain time
In emotional situations tendency to be somewhat inconsistent, volatile, and
Changeable.
I have an image of pride
My grasp of the real world is lose
I'm physical sensitive to injustice, it can make me ill
My environment has a big effect on me
I get distraught over conditions I feel powerless about.
Sometimes I like to be in a place safe from responsibility.
I associate myself with people who have their feet on the ground
I have an aimless wandering temperament.
I am sympathetic
I cannot turn down a hand that asks for help.
Some parts of me are psychic.
I am very sensitive.

Fable of the Mermaid and the Drunks

All those men were there inside,
when she came in totally naked.
They had been drinking: they began to spit.
Newly come from the river, she knew nothing.
She was a mermaid who had lost her way.
The insults flowed down her gleaming flesh.
Obscenities drowned her golden breasts.
Not knowing tears, she did not weep tears.
Not knowing clothes, she did not have clothes.
They blackened her with burnt corks and cigarette stubs,
and rolled around laughing on the tavern floor.
She did not speak because she had no speech.
Her eyes were the colour of distant love,
her twin arms were made of white topaz.
Her lips moved, silent, in a coral light,
and suddenly she went out by that door.
Entering the river she was cleaned,
shining like a white stone in the rain,
and without looking back she swam again
swam towards emptiness, swam towards death.

No Pity

Nothing makes me sicker then wanting to do something, but not doing it because not doing it is considered the "right thing."

Farewell

Someone very special to me read me this poem once, and I think from that moment I was very touched by how people influence you and how life is just really too short. I hope it means as much to you.

"A Farewell Letter"

If for an instant God were to forget that I am rag doll and gifted me with a
piece of life,
possibly I wouldn't say all that I think,
but rather I would think of all that I say.
I would value things,
not for their worth but for what they mean.
I would sleep little, dream more,
understanding that for each minute we close our eyes we lose sixty seconds
of light.
I would walk when others hold back.
I would wake when others sleep.
I would listen when others talk,
and how I would enjoy a good chocolate ice cream!
If God were to give me a piece of life,
I would dress simply,
throw myself face first into the sun,
baring not only my body but also my soul.
My God, if I had a heart, I would write my hate on ice,
and wait for the sun to show.
Over the stars I would paint with a Van Gogh dream a Benedetti poem,
and a Serrat song would be the serenade I'd offer to the moon.
With my tears I would water roses,
to feel the pain of their thorns,
and the red kiss of their petals.
My God, if I had a piece of life...
I wouldn't let a single day pass without telling the people I love that I love them.
I would convince each woman and each man that they are my favorites,
and I would live in love with love.
I would show men how very wrong they are to think that they cease to be in
love when they grow old,
not knowing that they grow old when they cease to love!
To a child I shall give wings,
but I shall let him learn to fly on his own.
I would teach the old that death does not come with old age,
but with forgetting.
So much have I learned from you, oh men...
I have learned that everyone wants to live on the peak of the mountain,
without knowing that real happiness is in how it is scaled.
I have learned that when a newborn child squeezes for the first time with his
tiny fist his father's finger,
he has him trapped forever.
I have learned that a man has the right to look down on another only when he
has to help the other get to his feet.
From you I have learned so many things,
but in truth they won't be of much use,
for when I keep them within this suitcase,
unhappily shall I be dying.
